Hello friends!
Let me share a quote that revolutionized my own parenting and the work that I do with parents. It is extracted from the book - The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali, a Conscious Parenting Coach.
‘’Unless you are fulfilled, you will use your children to complete you. You will teach them how to live with your Unacknowledged fears, Rejected emptiness and Forgotten lies, all the while unaware that you are doing so…’’
Friends, every time I use this quote I see how deeply it resonates with parents. And, sad as this may be, I consider the last statement - all the while unaware that you are doing so - not just sad, but a tragedy. Our lack of awareness hurts our children the most, and I have made it my life’s mission to guide parents into a journey of self awareness. The lack of awareness that we are doing so. If we desire that our children experience well-being, we must commit to this journey of self-understanding.

So, pause, reflect and ask yourself these questions:
- How do I handle challenging situations?
- Am I Reactive or Responsive?
- Am I able to Recognize and NAME my emotions?
- Am I comfortable with STRONG emotions such as - Anger, Frustration, Fear, Anxiety, Sadness, Shame or Guilt?
- What is the first thought that comes to mind when I wake up in the morning?
- How do I speak to myself, especially when I ‘fail’?
- Am I able to ‘sit’ with these feelings or do I tend to numb them with – work, busyness, mothering, fixing others, substance use or social media?
- What do I REALLY believe about myself?
- Whose voice do I hear when I perceive I have failed?
Carl Jung says - Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.
So, what is in your cup? What do you need to bring to awareness?
